Proposed Revision of the Foundation’s Governing Document

After a fundamental review and extensive discussions with the Charity Commission, it is proposed that the Foundation’s Governing Document, namely the Birmingham (King Edward the Sixth) Schools Act 1900 (the “1900 Act”), be amended by a Scheme to be made by the Charity Commission. A copy of the latest draft of the Scheme is linked here, along with and introductory letter here and a commentary here.

If you have any questions about the proposed changes to the 1900 Act, you should direct them in the first instance to the Secretary to the Governors at the Foundation Office. More details are available in the documents.

Safer Internet Day 2012

As Tuesday 7th February is Safer Internet Day 2012 we are taking the opportunity to once again raise awareness about this very important topic.  Of course, internet safety is afforded high importance throughout ICT schemes of work but additionally in their ICT lesson this week, all KS3 students will be looking at the issue of cyber-bullying focussing on the anti cyber-bullying code.  A copy of this code, a copy of advice to parents and carers from the police and links to many other useful websites are all available through the e safety for parents area of the school website.

Autumn Concerts

The 2011 Autumn Concerts dates are Thursday 17th and Tuesday 22nd November, 7pm - 9pm in the Music Centre.

Anyone wishing to attend the concerts will be able to pay for their tickets on the door.
